Qatar Solar Technology’s Polysilicon plant ( Phase 1 & 2 ) : HVAC works

Arabian MEP Contracting was awarded the HVAC Subcontract by the main EPC Contractor PUNJ LLOYD to carryout Design, Engineering, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of HVAC works for Phase -1 & 2, which covers Total 27 Buildings / Systems. This will be a fast track 12 months duration design & build HVAC project using Chilled water system and direct expansion type air-conditioning systems.

The client are Qatar Solar Technologies ( QSTec ), which is 70% owned by Qatar Foundation and the entire project financing agreement is already in place with Bank Masraf Al Rayyan.

This manufacturing and export facility is a first of its kind in entire Middle East and North African region and it will be a large scale development at Ras Laffan in a huge 1.2 Million Square meter plot and the entire project is estimated to cost USD 1 Billion. Under Phase -1 construction, this facility will produce 8,000 Metric Tonnes Per Year (out of total 45,000 MTPY) of high grade Polysilicon raw materials for Solar Panels, thereby significantly contributing to reduction of green house emissions.
